Gibson needs to learn from Apple
On 10.28 Gibson guitars launched it's new Firebird. Sadly the guitar is not the story here, but the colossal fail from the CEO Henry Juszkiewicz and the Gibson company. His presentation of the new futuristic instrument was less than impressive. And in this era of instant feedback the people are telling Gibson all about the giant egg they just laid.
scottiK writes, "Yes a revolution is needed...the Gibson employees need to revolt and get a new CEO! That was just bad...."
Strat48 writes, "Wow, that presentation would have gone over well at a funeral."
AD3 writes, "Here's the bird???
Djdenniswhatever writes, "Complete rubbish! Move along. Nothing to see here...."
And it keeps going. Gibson was one of the first instrument companies to embrace social media, but it's now biting them in the ass. If they really think their new Firebird is that great, they need to stop talking and start playing.

That video was actually difficult to watch. For a company that caters to a pretty hip, discerning audience, you'd think they'd have some in-house or agency creative guiding the big reveal. Powerpoint? Really?
